I'm always seeing different articles about 100 things I want my kids to know, or 50 things to say to your daughter before she turns ten.. Or Marries
I have quite a list in my mind..
Putting it to paper (or blog) is just what I'll do.
First things first.
1. Root yourself in Christ alone. Scripture should be your reference for life. No one will give advice like the bible.
2. You girls are wonderful!! Unique & without question beautiful.
3. There's nothing you could do, to make me stop loving you! Ever Ever.
4. Your going to make mistakes. When you fall get up, dust off. Keep that chin up buttercup. Be able to laugh at yourself and move on.
5. Forgive. Even when you don't get an I'm sorry.
6. Inner beauty is the most important. I know it sounds cheesy. But if your a pretty face with an ugly heart, your ugly period!
7. Marry someone like your daddy. A man who's willing to love you with or without makeup. A man who will drive an hour out of his way to bring you a flower. A man that doesn't let one single day pass without telling you how special wonderful & beautiful you are. A man who will rub your feet. A man that will make a Walmart run to buy you tampons.
8. Dance to the fiery rhythm of your hearts. I never want you to change for anyone or anything. Through life you will have many influences, good bad ugly. Be you. Stand up for what you believe in. Even when it's hard or a sticky situation.
Sometimes the right thing isn't always the cool thing. It's ok to stand alone & follow what you think is best.
9. Take care of your body. Eat your greens, exercise & drink plenty of water! Obviously splurge and live a little.
10. Take care of your skin. This is all you get. Sun-block is essential.
11. No store bought skin moisturizer or wrinkle reducer will ever give you what Coconut oil does! Make it your religion to apply it Nightly!! Age with grace.
12. Never let a Boy pressure you into Anything. If he cares about you, he will respect you & your boundaries.
13. Don't ever flip someone off!! Nothing is more offensive!
14. Be kind to strangers. I know we all have our moments. Me included. However you never know who needs to hear a kind word. Even if it is just thank you or a quick smile.
15. As a Woman I'm aware of the cattiness we all have from time to time. Taking someone down will never make you feel better or give you more confidence. If anything it makes you feel worse. Not everything needs to be gossiped about.
16. Comparison is a thief of joy. Human nature or not. Don't compare yourself to someone else. Or what someone else has. Love what you have, & have what u love!
17. Have Class always. Speaking your mind is very important, however a grown woman with a loud ignorant mouth is never celebrated.
18. Spring break shouldn't be a drunken orgy. Yes have fun, & make memories. Be young & celebrate that. However with technology these days.. Be smart.
19. Keep up with yourself. Don't let yourself go. Shave your legs, floss, pluck your eyebrows. Don't skip on hygiene even if it makes you a little late. It's worth it!
20. Get lost in a good book. I love finding a read I cannot put down.
21. Find a passion. Set goals & conquer them. Weather its dance, art, soccer, writing, acting. Give it your all.
22. Regrets suck. trust me, I have a few. You wont get everything right all the time, but its better to fall trying than to not give 100.
23. Recognize that Bubble Baths are a simple pleasure & indulge weekly. Chocolate also.
24. Study, Study some more & when you think your done find something else to study. The more you know the better.
25. Go to college & finish. Education is so important. No one can ever take your education away!!
I love you girls more than you know. My advice will never end!!!
